Broad Bean Violetta

Normal green pods containing unique violet-purple beans which are delicious steamed rather than boiled to retain much of their colour. Ideal for freezing
While I stayed at home waiting for the postman to deliver the hatching eggs Rob went to the allotment to do a few jobs. He sowed three rows of peas Fortune and erected a wire fence along the bed. This was followed by two rows of broad beans Violetta and a row of swede Best Of All, covered by a sheet of glass held up by a row of breeze blocks.
After checking the potatoes in the lean to, watering and topping up, he planted up another bag of three International Kidney.
He came home with another load of pots and some compost so I can get on with more seed sowing and some re-potting.
I have potted on the Marigolds started in a tray. The melons and the butternut squash all need potting on too so I am going to be very busy.
